Poetry at its finest.  This song speaks volumes – its tells such a powerful story.  If you were to turn on your radio right now, would you find yourself listening to an artist so conscious? Would you find yourself listening to an artist that is both rhythmically intelligent as well as just overall intelligent?  Could you honestly say that the artists delivered a message about social change, provoked evolution, or elicited the listener to – dare I say – think?  Her delivery, her use of words… The majority can take the lighthearted, empty, repetitive music that’s played on the radio airways today, I’ll gladly take this.

Although Lauryn Hill has recently been sentenced to 3 months in federal prison for tax evasion and there has been reason to believe that she has been mentally unstable at times, in my opinion, her musical talent is unparalleled. Her work should always be showcased on music lists and countdowns of her genre just because her music is so wholesome.  Don’t you agree?
